The weekend of the 22 - 24th of January saw the Otago mystery rally which involved a Friday afternoon historical tour of the Taieri ( Margaret driving on this occasion), finishing up at the Taieri showgrounds. The A & P show was being held on the Saturday and a big crowd enjoyed all the fun of the fair including show jumping, dog trialling with ducks in stead of sheep, a very funny spectacle. There were some competitions going on showing the skills of big diggers. A very hot but enjoyable weekend was had by all (about 20 vans in attendance), including a couple of late nights by some people watching the Aussi open tennis finals. Met a couple of people from the North Island who were traveling on their own. We invited them to Saturdays happy hour and loved hearing about their time on the road.
